Many edible plants, herbs or spices have special medicinal properties. The medicinal properties of turmeric and its main ingredient, curcumin, have been the subject of over 5600 published reviewed biomedical studies. In the research conducted in 2014 and published in Life Sciences, it was shown that curcumin has medicinal properties that accelerate the healing of wounds – curcumin enhances the collagen synthesis process, accelerates healing and intensifies the strength and proliferation of tissue cells around the wound. In addition, it has been shown that the spice has anti-oxidant properties supporting the healing process.
Primarily, sea buckthorn oil accelerates the regeneration of the skin and the healing process, as well as alleviating inflammations and pain. It has strong anti-oxidant effects. Its use slows the skin-ageing process and strengthens blood vessels. The oil soothes irritations, supports the healing of eczema, and has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. In addition, it hydrates and smooths the skin and protects it from harmful UVB radiation. It can be used as an ingredient in products for dry, flaking and sensitive skin with weakened blood vessels.
Grapeseed oil is the richest source of linoleic acid and natural vitamin E, an excellent anti-oxidant. In addition, it contains vitamin B6, lecithin, anti-oxidizing flavonoids and resveratrol, as well as various minerals. As a result, it helps to slow skin-ageing processes, regenerating and nourishing the skin. It soothes irritations, tones the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties.
After being used directly on the skin, it absorbs well without leaving an oily layer. The skin becomes smooth and bright, its firmness and tightness is improved, while the lipid composition of the epidermis is strengthened.
Shea butter, known also as karité butter (from the French word for LIFE), is aromatic fat obtained from the nut of the African shea tree.
It acts as a natural UV filter, and it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-ageing properties, as well as helping to reduce stretch marks. It is also an exceptional medicinal compound as it stimulates the faster scarring of wounds and burns. Additionally, it contains vitamin F, which brings relief to tired, tense and aching muscles, helping them to relax.
Oleic and stearic acids constitute up to 90% of the butter. The amount of unsaturated fatty acids considerably exceeds that which can be found in cocoa butter and other natural vegetable butters. Unsaturated fatty acids are the key ingredient in skin rejuvenation and moisturising processes – thanks to their deep penetration, they help to oil and moisturise the skin. Shea butter helps to maintain moisture and decrease water loss by creating a protective barrier on the skin’s surface by binding water (lowering the TEWL level), thus preventing the skin from drying or exfoliating. Simultaneously, it is well absorbed without leaving an oily layer, while remaining in the deeper skin layers for longer. Thanks to its origins, it adds a touch of the exotic to the cosmetics.
Natural beeswax forms an occlusive layer on the surface (a film), which prevents the excessive evaporation of water from the surface (indirect moisturising). As a result, it conditions the skin, i.e. softens and smooths it, making it shine and regenerating it. In addition, honey enthusiasts will be charmed by the wonderful sweet fragrance.
A small amount of the oleum should be placed on irritated, red or otherwise affected skin. Rub it in carefully and leave it to absorb. The product is very efficient – it contains exclusively active substances.
CAUTION: It can stain the skin and clothes – after applying cover with a bandage!
