The composition is based on a peppermint oil hydrolate, acquired through the steam distillation of plants cultivated at monitored and certified plantations. The essential oil and flavonoids found in the peppermint have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and regenerative properties, as well as stimulating blood circulation. The hydrolate has a pleasant, fresh and invigorating fragrance. By affecting the cold receptors located in the skin, it pleasantly cools and refreshes the skin.
Sweet almond oil contains oleic acid, linoleic acid and vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, D and E. It is an exceptionally delicate substance that does not cause allergies, as a result of which it is perfect for use in the care of newborns. It is especially recommended for use on dry and ageing skin. Used systematically it smooths the skin. In addition, it is also used in the treatment of eczema, psoriasis and on dry, itchy or irritated skin.
Shea butter, known also as karité butter (from the French word for LIFE), is aromatic fat obtained from the nut of the African shea tree.
It acts as a natural UV filter, and it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and anti-ageing properties, as well as helping to reduce stretch marks. It is also an exceptional medicinal compound, as it stimulates the faster scarring of wounds and burns. Additionally, it contains vitamin F, which brings relief to tired, tense and aching muscles, helping them to relax.
Oleic and stearic acids constitute up to 90% of the butter. The amount of unsaturated fatty acids considerably exceeds that which can be found in cocoa butter and other natural vegetable butters. Unsaturated fatty acids are the key ingredient in skin rejuvenation and moisturising processes – thanks to their deep penetration, they help to oil and moisturise the skin. Shea butter helps to maintain moisture and decrease water loss by creating a protective barrier on the skin’s surface by binding water (lowering the TEWL level), thus preventing the skin from drying or exfoliating. Simultaneously, it is well absorbed without leaving an oily layer, while remaining in the deeper skin layers for longer. Undeniably, thanks to its origins, it adds a touch of the exotic to the cosmetics.
Unrefined baobab seed oil is a source of unsaturated fatty acids, including up to 36% of linoleic acid and up to 3% of alfa-linoleic acid. It is especially rich in vitamins E, A, F and sterols. This oil has strong softening and hydrating properties, while also being an exceptional anti-oxidant, increasing skin elasticity, reducing wrinkles and small lines, relieving the symptoms of eczema, psoriasis, acne, atopic dermatitis and other such disorders linked to excessive dryness of the skin. In addition, it stimulates the regeneration of skin cells and prevents the formation of blemishes and discolourations.
The aloe oil extract has moisturising, softening and anti-ageing properties, as well as a having a soothing and anti-bacterial effect on the skin. It speeds up the healing of wounds, stimulates cells to regenerate faster and eases irritations. Its strong moisturising properties influence the skin’s elasticity and firmness, while also rebuilding its lipid barrier. It stimulates fibroblast to synthesise collagen and elastin, making mature and damaged skin look healthy and young again.
The anti-inflammatory effects of the oil result from the presence of phenols and sterols, which inhibit the prostaglandin synthesis and reduce the migration of cells responsible for the development of the inflammation. In addition, the sterols in the aloe speed up the healing process and increase collagen biosynthesis, as a result of which the aloe oil has a positive effect on tired, mature and flaky skin, which has been damaged by harmful environmental factors.
Natural beeswax forms an occlusive layer on the surface (a film), which prevents the excessive evaporation of water from the surface (indirect moisturising). As a result, it conditions the skin, i.e. softens and smooths it, making it shine and regenerating it. In addition, honey enthusiasts will be charmed by its wonderful sweet fragrance.
Geranium oil has a wide spectrum of properties with positive effects on the skin – it regulates sebum secretion, seals blood vessels, soothes skin irritations and burns, has antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and antiparasitic properties. It helps fight eczema and other skin imperfections. Additionally, it is a highly valued antidepressant.
